The world no. 1 player and the tennis star Serena Williams achieved another landmark when she defeated Sabine Lisicki at the Miami Open. She beat Lisicki by 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 6-3. Serena Williams have now become the eighth player in the world tennis to reach 700 WTA Tour match wins. Earlier Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Steffi Graf, Virginia Wade, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Lindsay Davenport and Conchita Martinez have achieved this goal.

Serena Williams have many trophies and victories in her shiny career but it this achievement is really bigger than all. Sabine Lisicki was palying well and Williams had tough time during the early set. She was hitting her rocket in frustration. Nothing was going on her ways she made many mistakes.

Williams won the first set luckily because Lisicki tremble in the tiebreaker. Williams was in deep trouble in the third set when she was behind by 15-30 but she played well from here and eventually proved that why she is the no. 1 player in the world. She got a 3-0 lead, and finally thrash the word’s 27 seeded German player Lisicki by 7-6(4), 1-6, 6-3.

It was not her best day but he won her match and storm into the semi final. She will now face No. 3 Simona Halepon at Thursday night.

The tournament organizers brought a special cake on the court to celebrate Williams achievement .William was not aware about her achievement and said “I had no idea,”.

There were lot of gossips and talks about the Raheem Sterling and the recent controversy about his deal with the Liverpool. There were great talks about his deal with Liverpool and speculation about the huge amount the gained from the contract. The star footballer finally broke his silence and told the reporter that he has turned down a new £100,000-a-week Liverpool deal.

The 20 year footballer added that he is not a money grabbing person and it is not all about money. He aid that wining trophies is important for me and he will always concentrate on it and this is something he is going to cherish throughout his life.

Talking to the media reporter Raheem Shaquille Sterling suggested that he will leave the Liverpool till summer. In a 27minutes long interview on Wednesday, Sterling said that he is committed towards soccer. He doesn’t want to gain any financial benefits or roam in the big cars or have multiple homes. Liverpool is now paying £35,000 a week to sterling and contract will last until 2017. Liverpool is in its bad form and they have not won any major tournament in last 3 years. One can hardly remember the last victory of Liverpool that came in 2012, when they somehow mange to beat Cardiff on penalties and lift the League Cup. If now sterling leaves the team then it will be a big jolt for the team who is already struggling with its form.

Well it is good news for the Indian fans that was disappointed from the Indian team defeat in world cup semi-final against Australia. This time the news has come from the badminton. There is the reason to joy for the Indian fans as Saina Nehwal the Indian tennis sensation becomes the champion of India open. She is first Indian women to win this tile. Not only this, with this victory Saina achieved another landmark. She became the first Indian woman to become no. 1. Saina has done this magic in India that is why the joy is doubled for the Indian badminton lovers.

This tournament was like a fairy tale for Saina where she played like a dominant player and outlaws all the players who came on her way. She was like a storm that was unstoppable and even the world’s best player were could not stop her. She played her own way and crafted niche for herself.
